Healthy Household Cleaners:
CARPET SHAMPOO
1/2 to 1 quart water
4 Tablespoons Nature's Fresh
2 Tablespoons Sunshine Concentrate
30 drops of your favorite essential oil
Mix and use in carpet shampooer.
CARPET FRESHENER
1/3 cup baking soda
3 drops peppermint essential oil
7 drops thyme linalol essential oil
8 drops lemon essential oil
2 drops pine
Combine E.O. with baking soda in glass container. Using a sugar shaker makes it easy to dispense. Sprinkle onto carpet, wait 15 minutes, and then vacuum.
LAVENDER AND TEA TREE SPRAY CLEANER
This spray cleaner disinfects surfaces, wipes out mold, and
discourages its return. Lavender and tea tree are known for their
antimicrobial properties. ( Discovered in an issue of

1 teaspoon borax
2 tablespoons white vinegar
2 cups hot water
1/4 teaspoon lavender essential oil
3 drops tea tree essential oil
Mix all ingredients together and stir until dry ingredients dissolve.
Pour into spray bottle for use and long-term storage. Shake before
using. To use, spray as needed on any surface EXCEPT GLASS. Scrub
and rinse with a clean, damp cloth.
LEMON-MINT WINDOW WASH
Your windows will be sparkling clean, and the fresh lemon juice and
peppermint oil in the formula discourages pesky flies from perching

Juice from two fresh lemons
4 cups water or club soda
1 teaspoon peppermint essential oil
2 teaspoons cornstarch
Mix all ingredients and pour into plastic spray bottle. Shake well
before using.
SPRITZ-AND-SPRAY TOILET BOWL CLEANER
The baking soda and vinegar in this formula dissolve mineral buildup, while the oils loosen grime and give a fresh, clean scent. (Discovered in an issue of

4 tablespoons baking soda
4 tablespoons vinegar
2 teaspoons orange essential oil (use NSP's red mandarin or lemon)
2 teaspoons grapefruit essential oil
4 cups water
Mix all ingredients in a 4-cup measuring cup or a bowl. When you mix the vinegar and baking soda, it will foam. Let this mixture stand for 10 minutes before pouring into a spray bottle. Spritz and scrub with brush.
